Chhattisgarh: In a shocking incident, two men were hanged to death by Naxalites in a remote village in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. According to the police, the Naxalites accused the men of being police informers and held a ‘jan adalat’ or kangaroo court to pass judgment. The incident came to light when a senior police official received information about it and sent a team to investigate.
The Naxalites had reportedly abducted three villagers, including a school student, from Jappemarka village and later released the student while hanging the other two men from a tree. The deceased were identified as Madvi Suja and Podiam Kosa. The Maoists’ Bhairamgarh area committee claimed responsibility for the murder, stating that the men were acting as police informers.
The police are currently collecting more information about the incident and have condemned this act of violence by the Naxalites. This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict between Naxalites and the government in parts of India, causing fear and tension among the local communities.
