M. Omar Abdullah expressed disbelief at the situation, declaring “there is no ceasefire” as Pakistani drones were detected over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Initially, there was relief after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire, effective from 5 PM today, but it failed to materialize as Pakistan resumed artillery shelling and drone attacks.
Abdullah questioned, “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire?” following reports of explosions in Srinagar. He stated that air defense units activated in Srinagar confirmed the absence of a ceasefire. Indian air defense systems were engaged after sirens sounded along the international border and Line of Control, intercepting Pakistani drones. Videos showed Pakistani drones being shot down in Srinagar, amidst loud explosions.
Similar situations unfolded in Udhampur, Jammu, and Akhnoor, with many drones reportedly neutralized. In Rajasthan’s Barmer district, authorities issued an urgent alert and enforced a blackout due to potential air raids. A similar precaution was implemented in Punjab’s Ferozepur, with drone sightings reported in Pathankot and Amritsar. Gujarat’s Kutch district also reported drone activity, prompting officials to urge calm and enforce a blackout.
