Terror in Manipur: Unidentified Assailants Set Fire to Primary Health Centre

Imphal:  In a disturbing incident, a primary health centre in Manipur’s Jiribam district was set on fire by unidentified armed assailants.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night and an exchange of fire took place between two groups in the same district. This is the latest in a series of violent incidents that have occurred in the state since September 1, resulting in the death of 12 people and leaving over 20 injured.

The capital city of Imphal and its adjoining areas are currently under curfew, and mobile internet services have been suspended in five districts to prevent any further violence. The authorities have arrested 33 people and apprehended seven juveniles in connection with the recent student protests.

The security forces are on high alert to prevent any further attacks or clashes between different communities. More details about the recent incidents are yet to be revealed.
