Hyderabad: Soumya Mishra, Director General (Prisons) stated that, In Telangana state, total of 41,138 persons including 2875 women admitted in the prisons in 2024. Of the total admitted in different jails, 30,153 were undertrails.
She said, Telangana prisons department running 29 fuel outlets at different places in the State where the ex-convicts are working, she said.
The prisons department is paying a substantial amount of Rs 200 a day to highly skilled prisoners, Rs 150 to skilled prisoners, semi-skilled – Rs 125 and unskilled prisoners – Rs 100, she added.
