Nepal and Thailand have signed eight(8) Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation in tourism, culture, and trade during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official visit to Thailand. The MoUs were signed by Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Thai Culture Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, and Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong, in the presence of both Prime Ministers KP Sharma Oli & Paetongtran Shinawatra.
In addition to governmental agreements, business organizations from both countries formalized partnerships. The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) signed MoUs with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Trade Board of Thailand to strengthen bilateral trade and create structured investment frameworks. FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal and Thai Chamber of Commerce Chairman Sanan Angubolkul signed the agreements, which are expected to enhance trade collaboration.
Moreover, the Confederation of Nepalese Industries partnered with the Federation of Thai Industries, and academic collaboration was established between Kathmandu University and Siam University.
PM Oli arrived in Bangkok on April 1 for the 6th BIMSTEC Summit and will return to Nepal on April 5 after attending a joint press conference and a luncheon with Thai officials.
