Snooker World Championship: Ding eliminated, Si Jiahui enters Quarterfinals

Chinese snooker player Ding Junhui was eliminated from the Snooker World Championship on Monday, losing to reigning champion Luca Brecel of Belgium with a score of 13-4.

At 38 years old, Ding was trailing 12-4 before Brecel secured victory in just 15 minutes with a 71-point break, advancing to face world number one Judd Trump next. Despite holding 15 ranking titles, Ding has yet to win the world championship.

Meanwhile, his compatriot, 22-year-old Si Jiahui, reached the quarterfinals for a second consecutive time after defeating Ben Woollaston 13-10. Si will now take on seven-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, who previously defeated Pang Junxu 13-4.
