Indian Army strongly responds to Pakistan ongoing ceasefire violations

After a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists, Pakistani troops have violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control for the fifth consecutive night. The latest unprovoked firing occurred on April 28-29, targeting areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Akhnoor sector, prompting the Indian Army to respond.

The Army confirmed small arms fire from Pakistan and took measured actions. This escalation in ceasefire violations follows previous incidents on April 27-28, with no casualties reported. In retaliation, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, closed the Attari border, expelled Pakistani military attaches, and mandated the departure of Pakistani nationals by May 1. In turn, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian airlines and halted trade with India.
