Hyderabad: Addressing an election rally at Parkala in Warangal district, BJP President Amit Shah, today, said that BJP won’t enable Telangana government to implement twelve per cent reservation for minorities.
Shah was relating the resolution glided by Telangana general assembly and sent to the Centre, seeking its nod for increasing reservation for Muslims in jobs and education from current four per cent to twelve per cent.
TRS President K. Chandrashekhar Rao, throughout his election speeches, has been targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not giving the nod to hike the quota for Muslims.
Terming the TRS government’s move as “unconstitutional”, BJP chief noted that the Supreme Court has fastened a ceiling of fifty per cent on the quota.
He asked the TRS to specify whose quota it proposes to chop to produce reservation to minorities.
The BJP president further said his party would stand like a rock to guard the reservation of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and backward classes.
He said TRS chief KCR obligatory burden of election by going for early polls to the state Assembly to push his son and daughter as KCR was petrified of Modi’s impact in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
Amit Shah further said that the December seven election would decide the long run of the state.
The BJP national president is on a day-long visit to Telangana to campaign election rallies, claimed that solely his party might offer a government in Telangana which might not be keen about the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) and its Supremo Asaduddin Owaisi.
