Physicians extract bottle gourd from Madhya Pradesh farmer’s rectum

A 60-year-old farmer in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, was admitted to a hospital with severe stomach pain.

His family sought medical attention, leading to an operation to remove a bottle gourd. The surgery, which lasted about two hours, was complex due to the size and unusual location of the gourd.

The patient is now safe, but the reason for the gourd’s presence in his rectum remains unknown. Physicians suggest it might be linked to a testicular issue, mental health condition, or possibly an accident. An investigation is underway to clarify the situation, and the patient has not provided any details about how the object became stuck in his body.
