New Delhi: Today, over 55,000 farmers from across India will protest at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. Farmers participating in the Kisan Garjana rally organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh will begin their demonstration at 11 a.m.
Police and paramilitary force personnel have been deployed at every nook and corner around the venue of the rally, Ramlila Maidan. The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh has organized the rally. About 35 thousand people are expected to reach this. Police have received information that farmers can get to the rally through 800 buses and 4000 private vehicles. Due to this, the area of Central and New Delhi districts will be affected.
The Bhartiya Kisan Sangh is organizing the Kisan Garjana rally in support of various farmer demands, including the exemption from GST.
On Monday from 9 a.m., the roundabout Kamla Market to Guru Nanak Chowk, Chaman Lal Marg, Ajmeri Gate towards Asaf Ali Road and Paharganj Chowk, and the roundabout Jandewalan, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road to Ajmeri Gate may also be subject to similar regulations.
It is recommended that commuters avoid the aforementioned roads and stretches. Commuters heading to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, and ISBT should leave early to account for potential delays on the route, according to the advisory.
“Use public transportation to help decongest roads,” it adds. “Only park your car in designated parking lots. Avoid parking on the side of the road because it impedes normal traffic flow.”
BKS stated that the ‘Kisan Garjana’ protest march in Delhi was being organized to seek various relief measures.
