Bareilly: The Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC) has postponed a programme to conduct mass marriages for men and women who have converted to Islam. The IMC chief, Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, stated that the event would only be held after the administration’s permission. IMC state in-charge Nadeem Qureshi stated that the city magistrate did not grant permission to convert and perform the marriages. The IMC had sought permission from the district administration for the event, but their request was denied. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar stated that the IMC had sought permission from the city magistrate to organize an event for religious conversion and marriage. The mass marriage ceremony will be held on July 21 at 11 am in Khalil Higher Secondary School.
