Hyderabad: The Telangana government has set a timeline to clear long-pending retirement benefits, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announcing that dues worth ₹6,000 crore will be disbursed to pensioners within 100 days.
The announcement came during a meeting with employees’ union representatives in Hyderabad, where financial and service-related issues were discussed.
For many retired employees, delays in receiving post-retirement benefits have been a continuing concern. The assurance of a defined timeline is expected to bring some relief, particularly for those who have been waiting for settlements after years of service.
Alongside this, the Chief Minister said a decision on the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) will be taken after a committee submits its report. Officials have been asked to complete the exercise at the earliest so that further steps can be considered.
Health security was also part of the discussion.
The government indicated that health cards for employees will be issued before June 1, aimed at improving access to medical support for serving staff.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister emphasised the need for regular communication between the government and employee unions. Recognised unions have been asked to hold meetings every two months and present reports on key issues, creating a structured channel for follow-up.
The message from the meeting was clear — addressing employee concerns will require both financial decisions and continuous engagement.
For pensioners waiting on dues and employees looking for clarity on pay revision and welfare measures, the coming weeks are likely to be closely watched.
