Terror funding: SIA raids continue in several districts of valley including Srinagar

Srinagar: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday raided several places and houses of Hurriyat activists in Srinagar and other districts of the valley in connection with the terror funding case. Meanwhile, the agency has got hold of many documents. The investigation of this matter is going on for a long time. The raid is currently going on.

According to sources, the raids are being carried out by the State Investigation Agency (SIA) at 12 places in Srinagar and other districts of Kashmir Valley with the assistance of police and CRPF. The raids are being conducted in summer capital Srinagar, Bandipora, Budgam, Kupwara and other districts.

Searches are being conducted at the residences of Mohammad Ashraf (Hurriyat leader) and Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Ahad Wani, resident of Nadirgund Pirbagh, in Barjulla, Srinagar. The probe agency is also searching the house of Mohammad Saeed Bhat, son of Abdul Jabbar Bhat, resident of Dard Hari Kralpora, Kupwara. SIA officials are also searching the house of Mohammad Asadullah Bhat, son of Muzaffar Hussain Bhat, a resident of Arampora Pattan in Baramulla district.

Let us tell you that earlier on November 27, while tightening the noose on the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI), the SIA had seized properties worth Rs 90 crore belonging to the organization in Anantnag district. These include agricultural land, gardens, shopping complexes, residential structures along with offices. These properties are at 11 places in the district. This is the second case of confiscation of properties. These properties have been declared illegal. Even before this, the SIA team has raided five tehsils of the district.

An official confirmed the raids and said multiple teams of the state probe agency were carrying out searches at 12 locations in Kashmir. This raid is going on in connection with FIR No. 20/2022 already registered in SIA. He said that the details of the case would be shared later.
