Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that if the Congress came to power then the policy commission would be abolished. He said that it has done nothing other than marketing the prime minister and giving false figures.
Rahul said that we will replace it with the Planning Commission, which will include economists and experts, and its staff will be less than 100.
Rahul’s statement came at a time when Policy Commission Deputy Chairman Rajiv Kumar was caught in the election code of conduct.
Policy Commission Deputy Chairman Rajiv Kumar has been given time till April 2 to answer the show cause notices issued by the Election Commission. He asked for a time from the commission till April 5. On behalf of the Election Commission, the notice was issued to Kumar for comment on the promise of Congress’s minimum income guarantee, and Kumar had to answer it till Thursday evening.
Kumar had said that he was outside the country and his letter was kept before the Election Commission. The Commission has asked them to file their reply by 2pm on April 2.
Kumar is alleged to have said that he would like to bring Congress’s promise to the moon for the election. They also tweeted – The proposed income guarantee scheme fails in financial testing, fiscal discipline testing and implementation tests.
