Hyderabad: Air India flight Ahmedabad to London, Gatwick crashed near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The incident occurred near the Meghaninagar area of the city.
The DGCA also confirmed that the plane had 242 people onboard consisting of 2 pilots and 10 cabin crew.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which was headed to UK, crashed at 1.39 pm while taking off, sending huge billows of smoke emanating near Meghaninagar. The local police confirmed that the plane crashed into a doctors’ hostel.
