Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm alert for Telangana for the next four days, with a yellow alert in place across the state till May 1.
Officials said light to moderate rain along with thundershowers is likely in several districts, including Hyderabad. Rain activity is expected mainly during afternoon and evening hours.
In the city, temperatures are likely to remain high during the day before cloud build-up leads to rainfall later.
Several districts may witness gusty winds and isolated intense weather activity during this period.
At the same time, heatwave conditions are expected to continue in parts of northern and central Telangana.
Recent temperature readings remain high, with Nizamabad recording around 46 degrees Celsius, while parts of Hyderabad have crossed 42 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has advised residents to plan their travel accordingly and remain cautious during periods of thunderstorms.
