Gujarat Polls : Big lead for BJP in counting of postal ballots

Ahmedabad : In the early trends of vote counting for the Gujarat assembly elections, the BJP is far ahead. The postal ballots cast in all of the state’s constituencies were counted in the first half hour. The BJP leads with 127 votes, the Congress with 31, the AAP with one, and others with two.

The counting of votes in Gujarat began at 8 a.m. on Thursday. The counting of postal ballots began first. The countdown to the election of 1621 candidates for 182 assembly seats has begun. The BJP has 182 candidates, the Congress has 179, the Aam Aadmi Party has 181, AIMIM has 14 candidates, and the NCP has two candidates. This time, 64.30 percent of people voted. In 2017, the polling percentage was 68.375 percent. The BJP won 99 seats, the Congress 77, the NCP one, the BTP two, and the Independents three.

Out of the state’s 27 tribal reserved seats, the BJP received 9, the Congress received 16, and the BTP received two, while the BJP received seven and the Congress received six. Votes will be counted on Thursday at 37 counting centers across the state, with 1,007 Election Commission officials on hand. This time, 64.30 percent of the people voted. It remains to be seen which party wins how many seats and how much of the vote in this election.
