INS Sunayna departs from Port Louis to conduct cooperative EEZ surveillance of Mauritius

Delhi: Indian ship INS Sunayna has completed a two-day visit to Port Louis, Mauritius, where it participated in joint yoga sessions and sports events on International Yoga Day. The ship’s Commanding Officer, Commander Prabhat Ranjan Mishra, met with Indian High Commissioner K. Nandini Singla and Mauritius Police Commissioner Anil Kumar Dip, highlighting operational engagement and confidence building measures in maritime security. The ship also participated in a friendly volleyball match with the Mauritius Coast Guard and attended a medical check-up for the elderly at Gaya Singh Ashram.

The ship was opened to visitors during its anchorage, with over 200 guests boarding. The visit reaffirms the close bond of friendship and inter-operability between the two maritime nations. Earlier, INS Sunayna entered Port Victoria, Seychelles, along with Seychelles Coast Guard Ship Zoroaster, which had undergone a brief overhaul at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, India. The ship was warmly welcomed by the Seychelles Coast Guard and Indian Embassy officials.
