NTR Garu envisioned a developed Andhra Pradesh, Together, we have to make Amaravati:PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, with a total worth exceeding Rs 58,000 crore. He emphasized that Amaravati is a place where tradition meets progress, embodying the aspirations of both its rich heritage and the vision for a developed India. By inaugurating these projects, he noted, the government aims to lay a strong foundation for the state’s aspirations and the country’s developmental goals.

Expressing his greetings and prayers for the people of Andhra Pradesh, including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Modi reflected on the historical significance of Amaravati, likening it to Indra Lok’s capital, highlighting its potential as a symbol of ‘Swarna Andhra’. The Prime Minister articulated a vision for Amaravati as not just a city but a transformative force that will propel Andhra Pradesh towards modernization and advancement.

PM Modi announced the establishment of the Navdurga Testing Range in Nagayalanka to bolster national defense, likening it to the strength of Maa Durga. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to rapid infrastructure development, built on the pillars of support for the poor, farmers, youth, and women, under the overarching aim of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The Prime Minister articulated a vision for Amaravati, intending it to be a hub where the aspirations of Andhra Pradesh’s youth materialize. He anticipates that Amaravati will lead in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Green Energy, and other vital sectors. Emphasizing the Central Government’s backing for rapid infrastructure development, he praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his foresight in adopting advanced technologies. PM Modi recalled laying the foundation stone for Praja Rajadhani in 2015 and noted the government’s unwavering support for Amaravati’s foundational infrastructure.

He called for collective efforts to realize the dreams of NTR Garu, aiming to position Amaravati as a growth engine for a developed India. Modi asserted that in the last decade, India has heavily invested in physical and digital infrastructure, with Andhra Pradesh benefitting significantly. Numerous road and rail projects are poised to enhance regional connectivity, helping farmers reach larger markets and bolstering industries.

The Prime Minister highlighted the critical role of rail networks in rapid development, revealing a drastic increase in Andhra Pradesh’s railway budget from less than ₹900 crore (2009-2014) to over ₹9,000 crore today. With 100% railway electrification and modern trains, the state is witnessing transformative advancements, including the modernization of over 70 railway stations for enhanced passenger experience.

PM Modi highlighted the significant multiplier effect of infrastructure development, particularly its positive influence on the manufacturing sector. He noted that large-scale infrastructure projects greatly benefit industries involved in raw materials like cement and steel, fostering employment opportunities, especially for the youth in Andhra Pradesh. Reiterating his commitment to empowering key societal pillars—poor, farmers, youth, and women—Modi emphasized the government’s focus on farmers’ welfare. He revealed that nearly ₹12 lakh crore has been allocated over the last decade for affordable fertilizers, alongside the distribution of advanced seed varieties to enhance agricultural output. Additionally, he mentioned that Andhra Pradesh farmers have received ₹5,500 crore in claims under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana and over ₹17,500 crore transferred through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, supporting their livelihoods.

PM Modi noted the rapid expansion of irrigation projects and the initiation of river-linking initiatives to ensure adequate water supply for farmers. He expressed confidence in the Polavaram Project’s renewed momentum under the new state government, anticipating transformative effects for millions in Andhra Pradesh. He also acknowledged the state’s significant contribution to India’s space ambitions and announced advancements in the defense sector, including a new defense institution and the establishment of a missile testing range—Nava Durga Testing Range—formally recognized as a boost to India’s defense capabilities.

“India’s strength lies not just in its weaponry but in its unity,” stated the Prime Minister, emphasizing the significance of unity, which is further embodied through the establishment of Ekta Malls across various cities in the nation. He revealed that Visakhapatnam will soon be home to its own Ekta Mall, aimed at showcasing the craftsmanship and artistry from artisans from every corner of India under one roof. The Prime Minister highlighted that these malls will serve as a bridge connecting people to India’s vast and vibrant diversity, while concurrently bolstering the local economy and reinforcing the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”

Additionally, the Prime Minister announced that this year’s International Day of Yoga, celebrated on June 21st, marks its 10th anniversary. This indicates a continued commitment to promoting wellness and mindfulness, uniting people through the ancient practice of yoga. The events surrounding this celebration will further amplify the essence of unity and cultural heritage within India. Through these initiatives, the government aims to foster communal harmony and pride in the nation’s diverse talents and traditions, creating platforms for artisans and promoting health and wellness among citizens. This holistic approach to development reflects India’s enduring journey toward unity and prosperity.
